What the app offers

Precise choices. Practical results.

Explore the image controls and local file-handling tools documented for Bags & Back. Each feature helps turn a selected image into an output that better suits its purpose.

01 / Editing toolkit

Everything you need to prepare a photo.

Start with the dimensions and shape, then choose how the image should be encoded. The controls are designed for deliberate everyday adjustments.

Dimension control

Set output width and height or resize by percentage. Keep proportions locked when appropriate, or use fit and crop to adapt the image to its intended frame.

Flexible composition

Choose fit or crop behaviour and decide whether upscaling is allowed. That gives you practical control over how a source image becomes its new dimensions.

Three export formats

Create new JPEG, PNG, or WebP images. Remember that a JPEG output cannot retain transparency, so format choice matters for some graphics.

Compression quality

Adjust output quality when balancing appearance against smaller file sizes. This is especially useful when you need a lighter image for a particular destination.

Target size in kilobytes

Request an output size goal using target-size mode. Results depend on the image and encoding constraints, so an exact target is not always achievable.

Batch imports

Bring selected images into a working batch through Android’s photo picker. Copies are maintained in app-private storage to support editing and reopening the current batch.

02 / Files and records

Know what happens after export.

Saving a picture and maintaining a record of its export are separate parts of the process. Both can be managed on your Android device.

Recent export history

Keep up to 75 export-history entries with output details such as format, dimensions, byte count, and saved location. Clear them when you no longer need the records.

Device-based processing

Decoding, preview generation, resizing, cropping, compression, and conversion are handled locally, without a developer-operated cloud API.

Separate output files

Save results to Pictures/BagsBack on supported versions of Android or choose a destination with the system document picker. Your original selected images are not overwritten.

System sharing

Use the Android Share action when you want another app or recipient to receive an exported image. Sharing is initiated by your choice.

Metadata handling

Outputs are newly encoded; original EXIF information, including embedded GPS tags, is not intentionally copied. Device and file-system metadata can still be added by Android.

Realistic image limits

Very large images are bounded for device memory safety, and animated sources become a static frame. These limits are part of responsible device-side processing.

Worth knowing

Built around Android’s native tools.

Photo selection, choosing folders, viewing files, and sharing use Android system features. External applications have their own privacy practices when you choose to share with them.
