Bags & Back Privacy Policy
1. Scope and information handled
Bags & Back is an offline Android photo resizing, compression and conversion application. You choose whether to import photos. To edit a photo, selecting that image is required; no name, email address, telephone number, home address, password or payment information is requested through an in-app form.
For images selected through Android's system photo picker, the application processes the image pixels and basic technical information: original filename, file/media format, file size, width, height and EXIF orientation. Images may themselves depict people or contain sensitive information or location-related metadata. Only images you select are imported into the application's working batch.
2. Optional editing preferences
You can optionally change resize mode, width, height, percentage, aspect-ratio lock, fit or crop, permission to upscale, output format (JPEG, PNG, WebP), compression quality, target-size mode and target size in kilobytes. Defaults are provided. The app retains these settings in app-private on-device preferences so they remain available after restarting.
3. Imported copies and export records
The app copies selected image files into its Android app-private storage to support editing and reopening the current batch. It retains a list of imported images including internal IDs, local file paths, source names, media types, dimensions and sizes. It stores up to 75 recent export-history records, which include saved file URI, display name, output format, width, height, byte count, date, target-size outcome and a processing note. These records support opening, sharing and reviewing saved pictures.
4. Processing, saving and transmission
Image decoding, resizing, cropping, compression, conversion and preview generation occur on your device; the app does not send images to a developer-operated server or cloud API. New output images are written to the device's Pictures/BagsBack folder on supported Android versions or a folder you choose using Android's document picker. Your original selected images are not overwritten. Exported files are stored separately from the application's private data and can be accessible to other apps subject to Android file and media permissions.
5. Sharing and external applications
Sharing happens only when you choose a Share action. Android then offers a choice of external applications, and the recipient you select may receive access to the saved image. Their privacy practices apply after you share. A selected photo provider may independently access content from its own device or cloud storage when you use the Android photo picker.
The Contact Us screen includes an optional button to open an installed email application. The app does not send an email itself (admin@bagsback.site). You decide whether to write or send a message; the app does not store a contact submission form.
6. Permissions and services not used This version does not request Internet, camera, microphone, location, contacts or broad photo-library permissions. It does not include developer servers, Firebase, analytics SDKs, advertising/tracking SDKs, user-account authentication, payments, subscriptions or cloud synchronisation. Android system features used include the photo picker, media-library saving, document picker, file viewing, file sharing and external email-client launch. The application does not sell personal information.
7. Metadata and technical limits
Exported images are newly encoded rather than original-file copies, so original EXIF metadata, including embedded GPS tags, is not intentionally copied. Android may add its own filesystem or media-library metadata. A JPEG output does not retain transparency. Extremely large images are bounded for device memory safety, animated sources are processed as a static frame and exact compression targets may be impossible.
8. Retention and deletion
Imported image copies and the current batch list remain until you use Delete imported copies or uninstall the application. Processing settings persist until Android app data is cleared or the application is uninstalled. Export-history records are limited to the latest 75 and can be removed through Clear export history in Settings or by clearing app data. Clearing history does not erase the exported image files. Delete those through Gallery or Files. Uninstalling removes app-private imports, settings and history, but not photographs saved externally.
9. Security and children's privacy
Application-private copies and preferences are protected by Android's app sandbox and device security controls, though no digital system can promise absolute security. The app does not have accounts or a child-directed community service and does not knowingly solicit children's personal contact details. Users should choose images they have permission to process or share.
10. User choices and changes
You can decline image selection, remove imported copies, clear history, choose export destinations and decide what to share. This policy describes this offline release and will be updated if features or information-handling practices change. For privacy questions, use the Contact Us section within the application.
